A report from Moody's Investment Service asks the investors to be optimistic about Dubai and reap out of the lower property costs in the city as it still is one among the most preferred investment choices of investors.
According to Faisal Hijazi, Business Development Manager, Rating Services and Islamic Finance at Moody's Dubai, revamping Dubai is not an easy and short process. The investors should keep this in mind and then invest in the city.
"I am not saying the investors should be over-optimistic but they should not be over-pessimistic…they should realise the restructuring process in Dubai will take time, say one or two years”, he said.
"But I think the investors should now take advantage of the available opportunities, which are numerous. Dubai still enjoys a good position in this respect and I think there are good investment opportunities in some sectors," Hijazi said. He also mentioned that the high liquidity-strong capital firms should think again about re-launching the stalled Dubai projects as the amount of profit they can avail from the current lower pricing trends is amazing. This, in turn can prove to be beneficial for the financial scenario of Dubai.
"I think Dubai has the potential to restore its strength. During the crisis, Dubai proved it is still an attractive area for investment… of course, there are some challenges – if they are overcome, then Dubai will be back on track," he said, adding that Moody’s will soon be providing more services in Dubai. The first Moody office was launched in Dubai in 2007.
"We will stay here because our attitude towards Dubai has not changed. On the contrary, we will expand our services and interest in the region. Many other companies in various sectors are also still present here," he said.
"Don't forget that Dubai enjoys an advanced infrastructure and a good life. Its strategic position still represents a springboard for companies and establishments seeking to expand in the region. These indicators show that Dubai will remain a key base for investors and those who seek successful investment opportunities in the area."
